Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 loses its verified seal to Steam Deck

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 didn’t have one of the quietest releases on the PC. The game made its Steam debut on the last day of January, receiving harsh criticism from users due to their computer performance. Some patches later, the title was even checked for Steam Deck, but now lost until this seal.

First of all, it is important to differentiate a game that works on Steam Deck and a game considered “checked” for the Valve laptop. There are four criteria evaluated by the company:

• The game must work in its default configuration
• All functionality is accessible with default control of the control
• The game shows Steam Deck Control icons
• The interface text is readable in Steam Deck

Valve considers that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 needs manual settings to run well on its laptop, so it has chosen to remove the game seal, which is now listed only as “playable” on the platform.

According to the Steam Deck HQ website, the game was “relegated” on March 28, last Friday. That is, practically a week after receiving your number 6 patch, which came out on the 20th.

The pace of updates to improve the game’s performance and correct their bugs on the PC has been accelerated, with new patches coming out almost weekly after Patch 2. If Nixxes Software, responsible for the port, wants to continue at this pace, the next update has not yet brought a solution for the game to be checked again on the deck.
