Lexar announced last Thursday (8) the arrival of its new memory kit, the Lexar THOR Z RGB DDR5focused on delivering solid desktop performance amid today’s hardware landscape.
With the global shortage of DDR5 chips still impacting the market in 2026, the manufacturer is betting on balanced specifications to attract the gaming public and PC enthusiasts looking for an upgrade without compromising on aesthetics.
The new kit hits the market with a capacity of 32 GB (2x 16 GB) and transfer speeds of up to 6000 MT/s.
According to the company, the focus is to maintain competitiveness with CL36 and CL38 latency options, compatible with both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO platforms, facilitating automatic overclocking for users who want to extract more performance from their machines.
RGB design and customization
Visually, the modules feature an aluminum heatsink with the new “Z” branding, differentiating themselves from the standard THOR line.

A lighting is a strong point, with a superior light bar that promises intense brightness and compatibility with the main synchronization ecosystems on the market, such as ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 and MSI Mystic Light.
For those who value a setup harmonious, color customization allows memories to be integrated with the rest of the hardware, creating dynamic visual effects.
A robust heatsink construction It acts to maintain operating temperatures, an important factor for stability at higher frequencies.

Price and availability
So far, Lexar has not confirmed the official launch price. However, considering the current scenario of inflation in memory components, analysts expect the kit to reach the international market for a few hundred dollars.
In a direct conversion estimated with the current quote, a hypothetical value of US$ 200 would represent around R$1,100, without considering import taxes and fees.
The shortage of DDR5 chips continues to be a challenge for the industry, making launches like Lexar THOR Z RGB DDR5 important to maintain the flow of components available to consumers who need to upgrade their systems now.
