A shipping manifest reveals that Dell was testing a “premium” notebook equipped with the elusive N1X processor last year. The chip is developed by NVIDIA in partnership with MediaTek, for ARM-based home systems, and has been rumored for years.

The document comes from the famous NBD platform, listing a “Dell 16 Premium DVT N1X ES2 OLED”. In other words, a high-end notebook from the manufacturer with a 16” OLED screen and the new NVIDIA processor.

It is worth remembering that Dell owns the Alienware brand, and many of its “premium” notebooks come out in this line of gamer products with more eye-catching designs. It is also interesting to note that at CES 2026 we saw the return of the XPS models, which could be another interesting option for the N1X to make its debut.

TechSpot remembers that Dell has been involved in rumors and leaks about the N1X since the first signs that the chip could exist. In 2024, the company’s CEO and founder, Michael Dell, commented that people should “stay tuned” when comments began that NVIDIA was working on an ARM CPU.

Will we finally see the N1X this year?

After so long in rumors and rumors – including predictions of when the chip would be presented that were not confirmed – the expectation is that 2026 will be the year in which we will finally have the first products with the N1X.

After leaks in benchmark tests and now a shipping manifesto, the prediction seems more likely this time. And the debut will possibly take place on a Dell notebook.

Windows on ARM is currently dominated by Qualcomm with the Snapdragon X Elite, which is close to reaching its second generation. The company promises performance gains especially in games, which continues to be a weak point for the architecture.

If NVIDIA manages to offer a truly viable alternative with the N1X, it could end up capturing a large part of the market, which still doesn’t have a wide variety of components.
