Krackan Point 2: AMD Ryzen Ai 5 330 with only 4 nuclei appears in leakage

AMD prepares new even weaker Apuss based on Zen 5, seeking lower price levels. This is what indicates a leak of Geekbench, revealing a new Ryzen Ai 5 330 with only 4 nuclei. As Benchmark information shows, this processor would be one of the new Krackan Point 2.

Apus’s Krackan Point series made its official debut at CES this year, bringing new entry options to the Ryzen AI 300 family. Now it looks like AMD is ready for a new Krackan Point 2 version, creating even cheaper segments components.

The leak indicates that the processor would have only 4 nuclei, divided into a cluster with just 1 and a second cluster with the other 3. HXL reports that we have a Zen 5 configuration with the others being Zen 5C. The integrated GPU is still a Radeon 820m.

In addition to detailing the leak processor cores, the insider also comments that the “complete” Krackan Point 2 has six centers in configuration 2 Zen 5 + 2 Zen 5C.

Once the new Apu Ryzen Ai 5 330 aims at the entrance segment, a low geekbench leakage score was expected. The processor appears with 1,949 points in single and 7,047 in multi.

Even compared to a generation 1 Krackan Point, Krackan Point 2 shows a very large drop at points. Ryzen AI 5 340 has an average of 2,640 points in single and up to 10,116 in Multi for Geekbench. These are differences of 35% and 44%, respectively.

Remember that scoring leaks do not yet show the ideal processor testing scenario, but it is not expected that these numbers will change a lot.

What products will the new Ryzen appear in?

Unfortunately we have no information on which system was used for the test, just knowing that it is an Acer notebook. So we don’t know what type of user AMD will get with the new Krackan Point 2.
