AMD still has Zen 3 processors in the pipeline. But just as the Ryzen 9000 was delayed, it looks like The two Ryzen 5000XT series SKUs have also seen changes to their release dates. At least that’s what the pre-sale in stores indicates.

These processors did not have exact release dates announced by AMD, but they were promised for July and some retailers indicated that they would arrive on July 31 (tomorrow), along with the debut of the Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000.

Now, an American store lists the Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT for two different dates: the first arrives on August 8 and the second on August 15, the same dates for the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X, in addition to the Ryzen 9 9900X and 9950X, respectively.

As these processors are not expected, there are no rumors about the reason for the postponement, unlike Zen 5 CPUs, which have already had below-expected performance reported by reviewers and misprinted names as reasons that led to the postponement of the new generation.

AMD Ryzen 5000XT Specifications

Regarding the configurations of these Ryzen 5000XT processors, there is not much secret. The Ryzen 9 5900XT fits below the Ryzen 9 5950X with the same 16 cores and 32 threads, with 100 MHz less in the base and boost clock (3.3/4.8 GHz), the same 72 MB of L2+L3 cache and TDP of 105w.

The Ryzen 7 5800XT is literally a Ryzen 7 5800X, also with 8 cores and 16 threads, clocks from 3.8 to 4.8 GHz, 36 MB of cache and 105w of TDP. The difference between this SKU and the other stronger one is that it has an AMD Wraith Prism cooler with RGB LED in the box. The prices for both have not yet been revealed.

AMD Zen 3-based processors are the last to be released for the AM4 platform, which launched in 2017. The launch of these two Ryzen 5000XT CPUs is to give this platform a little more breathing room, which has already been replaced by AM5.

AMD promises the same level of support for the current platform, which already has the Ryzen 7000 (Zen 4), Ryzen 8000G (Zen 4 + integrated RDNA 3 graphics and NPU), and will now be expanded with the arrival of the Ryzen 9000, which will mark the debut of the Zen 5 architecture, which kicked off in the mobile segment with the Ryzen AI 300.
