A user shared on Reddit a project he put together from a mini-PC equipped with an RTX 4060 and an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor. According to his post, he was willing to build a compact computer that he could use in the living room and that could also be easily transported when he traveled or visited friends.

With this goal in mind, he developed this case model using freeCAD and laser-cut the panels in matte black acrylic. In terms of design, the mini-PC focuses on minimalism, and even resembles a set-top box or even a console.

He says he even made some adjustments to the hardware, such as an undervolt for the RTX 4060 and also changes to the processor. “The system works very well and is reasonably quiet under load, which was not the case in the initial settings, as it sounded like a jet engine,” says the author of the project.

Since the idea was to transport the PC to a usage mode that could be similar to quieter computers, in the style of some fanless mini-PCs, he decided to apply some adjustments to reduce the overall noise level of the machine.

In addition to the RTX 4060 and Ryzen 7 3700X, the computer is also equipped with 16 GB of RAM (2x 8 GB), 1 TB Lexar NM710 SSD, Nocuta L9a cooler and ASRock B550m ITX motherboard.

“The case feels very premium and is very sturdy when holding it in your hands. I can comfortably fit it in my backpack.”he added.
