Intel Z890 motherboards will follow the same launch date as the Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” processors, which were delayed and will hit stores starting October 24, 2024. The date was uncertain, considering that only the delay in the CPUs had been revealed, but the confirmation indicates that both will be launched together.
Additionally, it is confirmed that the “800” models will launch with the “Intel Standard Profile” BIOS settings – ensuring that the processors have stability among the available options. However, it is important to note that manufacturers will also offer “Extreme” profiles for users who want higher performance from their CPUs.
According to the leaks, Intel will bring five different motherboard models this generation: the Z890 (premium), Q870 and Z860 (budget), W880 (workstation) and H810 (entry-level). In addition, they will use the new LGA-1851 SoC – the only one compatible with the Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” processors.
It is worth remembering that several models have already been shown during Computex 2024, with manufacturers such as MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte and Maxsun taking their next motherboards to the event – highlighting the “next generation” that they would support.

Intel’s postponement
Intel Z890 motherboards and Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” processors were initially scheduled to launch on October 17, 2024 – one week after the official announcement scheduled by the manufacturer. However, for reasons that have not been disclosed, they have decided to postpone the date of their arrival by one week.
Initially, the Arrow Lake-S line will feature five processor models: the Ultra 9 285K, Ultra 7 265K, Ultra 7 265KF, Ultra 5 245K and Ultra 5 245KF. As you can see, the high-end 285K version will be the only one not to receive a variant without integrated graphics. In previous generations, the option existed, but it was not revealed whether it will exist in this one or will come in the future.
