Intel releases driver to optimize COD: Black Ops 6 and improve Diablo IV on its GPUs

Intel released its latest WHQL driver, version 101.6129, today, October 25th. The update brings Game Ready optimization for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to its GPUs, in addition to improving the performance of the Diablo IV DLC, Vessel of Hatred.

As always, the update is valid for dedicated A-series graphics cards, as well as Arc-based integrated graphics in their processors. However, not all improvements are suitable for both GPU formats.

Optimization for COD: Black Ops 6 is aimed at the entire line of Intel Arc GPUs. Meanwhile, Diablo IV’s performance improvements take place on Core Ultra Series 1 processors. The promise is a gain of up to 11% in frames per second, with the game on average at 1080p.

Furthermore, the new 101.6129 WHQL driver is also important for supporting the integrated graphics of Intel’s new Core Ultra 200 series of processors, also known as Arrow Lake.

COD: Black Ops 6 already has known issues on Intel Arc

As happens when every new driver arrives, Intel lists known problems that the update does not yet fix. Among them, COD: Black Ops 6 already appears on the list.

Known issues on Intel Arc A-series graphics cards:

• Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (DX12) may display darker shadows than expected in certain campaign scenarios.
• Doom Eternal (VK) may display intermittent flickering in the game menu and during gameplay.

There are also known issues with the integrated graphics on Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors:

• Star Wars Outlaws (DX12): may experience sporadic crashes during gameplay.
• Adobe Premiere Pro may display corruption in video output after an 8K AV1 encode.
• Davinci Resolve Studio v19.0 may experience errors while rendering OpenVino test scenarios.
