The situation with the still unresolved issues involving Intel Raptor Lake CPUs has caused a game studio to migrate all of its PCs to AMD, that delivers “100 times less crashes” compared to 13th and 14th generation Intel Core. The developers recommend their players to do the same.

The studio is Alderon Games from the multiplayer game Path Titans, which is available for consoles and PC, but in the case of computers, it cannot be found in the biggest stores like Steam and Epic Games.

On the official website, the studio’s founder, Matthew Cassells, says that the “Intel is selling faulty 13th and 14th generation CPUss”. According to him, his studio, using these processors, has had problems such as crashes, instability and memory corruption.

Issues encountered with Intel Raptor Lake CPUs

These issues with Intel Core Raptor Lake CPUs persist despite the BIOS and firmware updates released by various motherboard manufacturers over the past few months. Alderon Games has identified five different areas of concern:

  • With the clients: Thousands of crashes on 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs in our crash reporting tools.
  • Dedicated game servers: constant failures, taking down entire servers
  • Development team: Developers using these CPUs experience frequent instability while creating and working on the game. This can also cause SSD and memory corruption.
  • Game Server Providers: Community server hosting with persistent crash issues.
  • Benchmarking tools: Decompression and memory tests unrelated to Path of Titans also fail.

Disclosure

The founder of Alderon Games says he has observed the performance of 13th and 14th generation Intel Core CPUs deteriorating over time, something we showed here months ago. The failure rate, as a result, reaches 100% in the studio’s tests, “indicating that it is a matter of time before the affected CPUs stop working“.

To solve this problem for developers, the studio is migrating all of its computers to AMD, which offers “100 times fewer crashes compared to faulty Intel CPUs“They recommend that gamers hosting servers avoid using these Intel processors.

Matthew Cassells concludes by saying that this ad is not an advertisement in favor of AMD and further says that, “for the good of Intel“, they expect a recall and refund to happen for consumers, something that should not happen.
