While Intel doesn’t bring the new generation of desktop processors, it updates the current Raptor Lake Refresh series (14th generation) without any fanfare. There are 11 new SKUs ending with the letter “E” across the i5, i7 and i9 segments, all equipped with only the performance cores.
As a result, these new processor models have fewer cores in total due to the absence of the efficient cores of this generation. If this idea has you excited about an upgrade, forget it, as these SKUs are aimed at the embedded and commercial markets.
All new Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors feature a new nomenclature. Using the base name of the CPUs, the number 1 with the letter E has been added. The lineup features 6/12 and 8/16 SKUs, clocks ranging from 2.0 to 5.8 GHz, 24 to 36 MB of L3 cache and TDP between 45 and 125 W. Check out the new CPUs below.

This launch, even though it is not for the mainstream public, happens amid several reports of problems with Intel Raptor Lake processors, also involving the 14th generation, which is actually a simple refresh of the 13th generation.
The first reports, which emerged months ago, said that processors of this architecture, especially the Core i9 and Core i7 series, showed performance degradation over time.
Different motherboard manufacturers have even come up with solutions in BIOS updates, through profiles with lower consumption, the main cause of instability in these products. However, it seems that this did not solve the issue of Intel Raptor Lake as a whole.
