Intel brought Arrow Lake series processors to mid-range and enthusiast notebooks with the Core Ultra 200H and 200HX. For those who want to save more, however, the company has prepared an entirely separate line, with the announcement of the Core Ultra 200U.
The new series of processors appears to be based on Meteor Lake Refresh, but we didn’t get confirmation of the architecture at its announcement. There are four new SKUs at first, with two Ultra 5 models and two Ultra 7 models. All Core Ultra 200Us use the same core configuration: 2 performance, 8 efficiency and 2 low energy efficiency (LPE), for a total of 12.
The main difference in the series is in the processor clocks, which range from 4.8GHz to 5.3GHz in boost. Still, each model maintains operation between 15W and 57W, to help save the notebook’s battery.
According to Intel tests, the autonomy of notebooks equipped with a Core Ultra 200U can reach 20 hours of basic use, or 10 hours spent in a meeting on Microsoft Teams.
Intel Core 200U supports up to 96GB DDR5-6400
As shown in the table with different SKUs of the Intel Core 200U series, the company’s new mobile processors support up to 96GB of memory in DDR5 modules with up to 6,400MT/s speed.
Processors for notebooks are often used in mini PCs too, and today (the 6th) we had the announcement of a new GMKtec compatible with the same memory capacity.
