A new leak suggests that Intel’s top-tier Core Ultra 200 CPUs from the Arrow Lake line won’t have an F version. In other words, this means that all models, such as the Core Ultra 9 processors, will continue to have integrated graphics.

The information released by leaker “jaykinh0”, if correct, demonstrates a change in the manufacturer’s policy in recent years. The F variants feature several CPU models with integrated graphics disabled.

Even though it comes with a small $30 discount, it is a more viable option for those looking for the best gaming performance. If you buy an Intel Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” CPU for this purpose and are looking for models with high performance, you certainly already have or will look for a dedicated graphics card – not needing the integrated GPU.

While Intel may not actually bring high-performance “Arrow Lake” Core Ultra 200 CPUs without an iGPU, this could still bring benefits to users if it becomes a reality.

One of them is the lack of need to purchase a dedicated graphics card so soon, with the possibility of using the iGPU until the one you want drops in price or you have greater purchasing power. In addition, if yours has problems, you will be able to play or perform tasks with some limitations until it is repaired or a new one is purchased.

Depending on the architecture, it would also be possible to use its chips – even if the iGPU had faults, which would previously have become a problem for the consumer. This is if its structure is similar to what was seen in Meteor Lake processors – whose integrated graphics had its own chiplet.

The Intel Meteor Lake line has four active blocks: the computational, graphics, IO and the SoC. However, the Lunar Lake chips will follow another path and have only two blocks: the main one with the CPU cores, the iGPU and NPU and the other with a small platform controller.

Which desktop “Arrow Lake” processors will follow has not yet been announced. Intel’s marketing indicates that it will retain the four-block configuration, but this information has not been officially confirmed.

Commercially speaking, it is always good to give consumers options – even if it does not bring huge savings. In this regard, an “F” version would be missed, even if for a small portion of the public.
