Intel may not have been very satisfied with its Arrow Lake series processors, but that won’t stop the company from refreshing the line. And now we have the first leak for one of these new CPUs, in the form of the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus appearing in Geekbench results.
The screenshot below shows the supposed performance of the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus in an as-yet-unnamed Lenovo notebook. According to VideoCardz, the test was carried out with an RTX 5090D, indicating that we are seeing a product for China.
The details listed in the synthetic test generate speculation regarding Intel’s plans for Arrow Lake Refresh CPU names. The name Core Ultra 7 270K Plus seems to indicate that this could be a new version of the Core Ultra 7 265K, and the clocks that appear are in fact similar – staying at 3.7GHz, with the boost going up to 5.5GHz.
However, the core count is different. The supposed Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores, for a total of 24. The Ultra 7 265K has only 20 cores.
Can Arrow Lake refresh change the level of each processor?
The core count that appears in the Geekbench leak resembles what the current Core Ultra 9 285K offers. Not only that, the final score of 3,205 in single core and 22,206 in multi of the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is also basically the same as what the Ultra 9 285K offers.

In this way, this first Arrow Lake Refresh CPU looks more like a downclocked and renamed version of the Core Ultra 9 285K. Previous leaks state that Intel does not intend to change the core count of the processors in this new line, but the company may still readjust some of the names and the levels where each CPU falls based on the prices it intends to charge for the products.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the current leak indicates an improvement in the performance of memories supported with the new processors, going to DDR5-7200.
