With the Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) CPUs arriving, new benchmarks are being recorded and the Intel Core Ultra 5 228V also had its performance recorded on the Geekbench platform.

The processor will be equipped in an MSI Prestige 13 AI+ EVO notebook, with 8 cores and using 32GB LPDDR5X-8533X memory – representing the lowest result in single-core and multi-core scores of the entire Lunar Lake line seen so far.

According to Geekbench 6, the Intel Core Ultra 5 228V CPU scored 2,585 points in single-core and 10,053 points in multi-core. In comparison, the Core Ultra 7 268V scored 2,713 and 10,036 points, respectively. Even though the multi-core analysis is within what is seen in the rest of the lineup, the single-core still falls short.

In comparison to older generations, it surpasses (by a small margin) what is seen in the Core Ultra 9 185H in single-core – which reached 2,284 points, while the 12,797 multi-core points show that the previous line still has the lead in this aspect.

However, it is important to note that the Intel Core Ultra 5 228V processor operates at 17W (compared to the 54W of the Core Ultra 9 185H) and that its maximum clock is 4.5 GHz.

Lunar Lake line and the Intel Core Ultra 5 228V CPU

It’s important to note that in the leak that occurred a few months ago, the Intel Core Ultra 5 228V CPU was not the lowest-end of the Lunar Lake line. In fact, it was the second-lowest performing CPU, above only the 226V version – which maintains the same number of cores and memory speed, but reduces from 32GB to 16GB.

In addition to what was described above, the 228V model will also feature an Arc 130V iGPU and a 40 TOPS NPU for artificial intelligence.

It is worth mentioning that more details should be released closer to the launch of the Intel Lunar Lake line, with the Core Ultra 200V CPUs hitting the market on September 3, 2024. In the same month, we will also have the “Innovation” event – which should present the Arrow Lake-S desktop processors.
