Intel Core Series 2: New Raptor Lake Refresh is 14% faster with TDP smaller than the previous

Intel prepares a new series of Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs that should appear right in new notebooks. Now, according to a Passmark Performance Test leak, we know that the potential of the new Intel Core Series 2 is somewhat promising.

The score that has been circulated on the internet comes from Intel Core 9 270h, which should be the top of the new series. It offers 14 cores and 20 threads, with up to 5.8GHz clock boost while keeping 45W TDP. With this configuration, he won 29,424 points in Passmark in Mulithread, with 4,125 points in single thread.

As shown in the above capture, of the 14 processor nuclei, 6 are for performance, with 12 threads, while the rest are efficient nuclei. The Intel Core 9 270h Cache L3 is 24MB and it supports up to 96GB DDR5-5600.

WCCFTECH staff made a comparison of the new Raptor Lake Refresh with the Intel Core I5-14500hx, which could be considered its predecessor in the segment.

Both CPUs have similar settings, but the previous model has a larger 55W TDP, and delivers 14% less performance to the Thread Single Test:

The multithread score is still in favor of Intel Core 9 270h, but the difference is less expressive. Thus, the new processor offers more performance better efficiently, which should help with notebook autonomy.

The numbers are positive, but they are not a surprise, especially given the difference in the new CPU clock.
