With little time left before the launch of the Intel Core Ultra 200V CPUs – Lunar Lake – the manufacturer decided to reassure consumers and stated that the new mobile processors and the Arrow Lake version, made for desktops and supposedly due to arrive in October, will not be affected by the instability problems seen recently.

The problem, internally called “Vmin Shift Instability” caused quite a headache for users of 13th and 14th Generation hardware and the company decided to make an announcement to calm spirits about the next CPUs that we will see on the market.

Intel has confirmed that its next-generation processors, codenamed Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake, are not affected by the Vmin Shift Instability issue thanks to the new architecture being used in both product families. Intel will ensure that future products will be protected from Vmin Shift Instability issues in the same way.

Intel will unveil its Lunar Lake CPUs – Core Ultra 200V – tomorrow, September 3, 2024, and is also expected to reveal some of the notebooks that will come with the mobile processors. Intel lists CPUs without instability

In addition to announcing that Intel Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake CPUs will not have instability issues, the manufacturer also officially listed all of its hardware that remains in production and that does not experience the Vmin Shift Instability issue.

The intention is not only to reassure its audience, but to clarify several narratives that have occurred in recent months regarding its processors. Check out the products that remain without risk of instability below:

  • 12th Gen Intel CPUs (Alder Lake) – both mobile and desktop;
  • 13th and 14th Gen Intel i5 (non-K versions) and i3 CPUs – desktop;
  • 13th and 14th Gen Intel mobile CPUs, including the HX line;
  • Intel Xeon processors, which includes hardware for servers and workstations;
  • Intel Core Ultra Processors (1 series)

Intel Recommendations

Despite detailing well what is going through instability issues or not, Intel maintains the recommendation that all users with 13th and 14th Generation CPUs must install the new BIOS to use the new standard power consumption – made available by several motherboard manufacturers over the last month.
