Intel plans a major change in the architecture of its processors that must be implemented in a few generations. According to Rumors, the company aims to unify P and E from its Titan Lake generation processors, which are expected to arrive in 2028.
The information comes from an alleged Intel engineer, commenting on the company’s plans in China. The profile dedicated to silicanfly leaks has organized what is being said about the future of the “blue side” in a table, which illustrates well what to expect from the future of Core processors:

As the image shows, and if rumors are confirmed, P and E and Panther Lake generation will bring smaller increments compared to current in Arrow Lake. Then we will have the arrival of the P-core Coyote Cove and the E-Core Arctic Wolf. Apparently the Arctic nuclei will be the last large update before unification in the Titan Lake generation.
Intel should take advantage of changes and wipe the team
One of the things that most add credibility to the rumors of the time is the information that Intel would take advantage of the unification of nuclei in its architecture to say goodbye to the team behind the P Centers.
While seeking to contain its fall and reorganize its coffers, the company has sent many employees although, and has plans to continue the process for some time yet.

Silicanfly does not comment if the alleged unified Titan Lake nuclei will be developed only by the team and or if there will be a restructuring in this team as well. The new nuclei is expected to have a visible gain in PPA, PPW and overall performance.
Unifying its nuclei is certainly a radical change to Intel’s domestic CPUs, but it does not mean it is unheard of to company. In fact, not so long that the company offers processors with P nuclei and nuclei E.

The format was introduced with the Alder Lake in 2021. At the time, the design was very compared to Arm’s Big.Little system. At the time, the decision was considered a great response to AMD developments with the advent of the Ryzen CPUS.
If Intel in fact again unifies its nuclei with the Titan Lake in 2028, the separate design will be abandoned in a little over six years.
