Intel believes that his castings will stop harming 2027

As with several other investments in the world of technology at its beginning, Intel’s castings have brought billionaire losses to it with each new fiscal quarter. However, the company is optimistic about the future and believes this trend should reach the end in 2027.

According to the company, this will coincide with the debut of its 14th manufacturing technology and the production of the first 18a-P nodules. They will be the successors of the 18a (1.8 nm) solution, which will be the basis for the generation of Panther Lake CPUS. It hits the market in 2025, but should only gain a higher production pace in 2026.

Intel considers this generation as a “concept proof” for external customers-if the generation is successful, it can attract more companies interested in using their foundries. With this, she believes that the 18th-P generation will start an era in which her sales can at least coincide with her high operating costs.

Intel needs to gain the confidence of external customers

During the JP Morgan Global Technology, Media and Communication conference, Intel’s financial chief, David Zisner, explained the situation. According to him, the company has many potential consumers, but still need to prove to be able to deliver consistent and reliable results.

“So the committed volume is not significant at the moment, this is certain. But, you know, I believe we need to prove ourselves a little partially with our own products and eat our own dog feed here, and then let’s start to see some consumer engagement”He explained.

Zisner also stated that Intel needs external revenues on the basis of a few billion so that its casting businesses find a balance point. In addition to looking for more customers, the company also intends to take advantage of its own productive capacity with Panther Lake and Nova Lake lines – which will allow it to reduce production costs and increase its profit margins.
