A new rumor suggests that Intel has changed its plans for the launch of its next desktop CPUs – canceling the Arrow Lake-S refresh line that was supposed to launch in 2025 and waiting a little longer to bring out the “Nova Lake” models.
The information came from leaker “Panzerlied” on the Chiphell Forum, who gained notoriety by revealing the specifications and parameters of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” GPUs. In response to another user, he reports that the new processors have been canceled and that the original line will compete against AMD for at least two years on the desktop.
It is important to take this rumor with a grain of salt, as the Intel Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” CPUs have supposedly not received any official changes to their roadmap – which means we have to wait for an official announcement from the manufacturer.
A sudden change of plans is not impossible, especially at this delicate time that Intel is going through – cutting costs and holding on while seeing losses in its financial reports and falling shares.

It was common knowledge that Intel Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” CPUs would get a refresh that would hit desktops in 2025 – bringing integrated NPU for artificial intelligence and a larger die to hold more cores and threads.
The processors would be compatible with the LGA-1851 socket and rumors suggest that the Nova Lake line will be as well. Considering that they will supposedly hit the market in two years, it is fair to say that plans could also change by then.
