Intel Arc integrated graphics appear in Steam search for the first time

Steam’s hardware survey shows the presence of Intel Arc graphics for the first time in its list. Integrated GPUs have grown by 0.01% in recent times, being present in 0.19% of survey participants’ builds. It’s a small number, but at least now Intel Arc appears by name, and not aggregated under “others”.

VideoCardz explains that this is the commercial name for all GPUs integrated into Meteor Lake generation processors. Thus, the number is even a little worse, because it brings together several models to achieve this representation in Intel’s Alchemist architecture. Dedicated video cards of the same generation, such as the Arc A770, would appear as independent inputs. In other words, they are still part of the “other” list.

Meteor Lake processors with Intel Arc Graphics made their debut in December 2023 – that is, they are completing one year of launch. During this period, at least among gamers, they failed to achieve great popularity, as shown by Steam’s hardware survey. Obviously, this is a limited metric to talk about the success of a generation of CPUs, especially in a list so massively dominated by NVIDIA GPUs.

It will become more difficult to see Intel Arc in Steam searches

The people at VideoCardz are aware of the fact that Intel no longer intends to combine its SKUs under one name as it does in the Meteor Lake generation. This way, it will probably be much harder to see Intel Arc Graphics or anything similar appearing in Steam hardware searches.

The change will begin with Intel’s Xe2 GPU technology, which will also appear on Battlemage dedicated graphics cards. In other words, depending on the success of these cards, the manufacturer still has a chance to conquer its space among gamers, placing specific GPU models on the Steam listing.
