Intel wants to keep its entry-level processors and a new one has been revealed through a benchmark: the 310 model. It will follow the launch of the “300” version launched in early 2024 and will also be aimed at the desktop market.

Its design is similar to what was seen in the Alder Lake-N line, which carried only small efficiency cores. In this case, the Intel 310 processor has only two large performance cores.

According to the benchmark, the chip will reach a frequency of up to 4.1 GHz and achieved 2,152 points in the single-core tests, while the multi-core tests reached 4,254 points.

Both the Intel 310 and 300 processors support hyperthreading, which is an advantage for input devices. However, neither CPU supports turbo clock, meaning it is not possible to boost its speed.

Despite targeting the PC/consumer/tablet market, the Intel 310 processor may be a more advantageous option for those looking to use the basic functions of a desktop – whether for use in studies, businesses that use their own systems and other functions that do not require too much from their hardware.

Intel 310 Processor Configurations

According to Intel, the 310 processor will have integrated graphics enabled (UHD Graphics 710), containing an Xe-LP core equipped with 16 EUs. Although it does not support 3D graphics, it still supports 5K images at 120 Hz, in addition to also being compatible with several video codecs.

With the launch of the Raptor Lake line in 2022, Intel discontinued its Celeron and Pentium lines. However, it decided that it would continue to maintain its entry-level processors through this new line – which has only two SKUs, but which remain in production like its other products.

Intel/Reproduction

The Intel 310 processor, despite being the second in the line to be launched in 2024, does not yet have a scheduled arrival date from the manufacturer. Considering that it is possible that we will only see it in integrated systems, there is a chance that the date will not even be officially announced and it will be made available to the market sometime in the second half of the year.
