Innodisk announced this week its new DDR5 memory modules, in CUDIMM, CSODIMM and RDIMM formats. The company works mainly with products for servers and data centers, so its new memories reach capacities of 64GB per module. This is a number well above the 24GB that we see appearing in most CUDIMM DDR5 memories for home PCs.
Innodisk’s new memory series is called DDR5 6400, indicating its speed in the name: up to 6,400MT/s. The manufacturer highlights that, in relation to its previous generation, the new CUDIMM, CSODIMM and RDIMM modules double the capacity and increase performance by 14%. It is worth noting that 64GB is the maximum capacity of each new module, but options start at 8GB.
The new CUDIMM DDR5 6400 memories, as well as other formats, support both AMD and Intel platforms. They also bring specific technologies for industrial use, such as protection against extreme temperatures.
According to Innodisk, the new memories were designed to operate in environments between 0ºC and 95ºC, but the manufacturer is working to deliver new products that will withstand up to -40ºC as well. The modules also have a gold coating to prevent sulfurization, increasing their durability.
Innodisk highlights that its new DDR5 6400 series memories are ideal for driving AI. As it has become mandatory for new products in the industry, the most talked about technology of the moment becomes a selling point in the speech of yet another manufacturer.
According to the brand, its new generation CUDIMM, CSODIMM and RDIMM modules are the “ideal choice” for applications such as LLM and generative AI. Among practical uses, the company mentions remote health exams and practices, high-resolution 3D images and real-time data analysis, among others.
