Director Hideo Kojima has posted a new photo on Instagram, showing off his preparations to show off more of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at Tokyo Game Show 2024 – with the game running on the monitor, a DualSense controller in his hands, and a possible PS5 Pro hidden under a towel.
It’s important to note that, even though these are just assumptions, there would be no reason for the professional to hide the console that was being used to run his game if it were the regular models. If it were a regular PlayStation 5 or the Slim version, there would be nothing to hide from fans. Right?
With rumors and debates about the PS5 Pro appearing even more frequently after gamescom 2024, it’s also possible that Hideo Kojima is playing a trick on his audience – hiding the console just to spark even more theories on social media.
However, there’s a better chance that this is actually an enhanced version of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s flagship hardware. If it does exist, it would likely be in the hands of PlayStation’s major studios and being used to power their next big games – which would be both the case with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
It is noted that Hideo Kojima published the image with the alleged PS5 Pro also without elaborating or going into details, possibly being under embargo by Sony until the moment the console is officially announced – which everyone expects to happen during TGS 2024, which takes place between September 26th and 29th.

The rumors surrounding the PS5 Pro
As of this writing, no leaked details about the PS5 Pro have been confirmed by Sony. The new and improved console was one of the main “unofficial” topics within gamescom 2024, as possible visuals of the hardware were revealed – as well as some information about its dev kit.
The fact is that Hideo Kojima and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be one of the main highlights of PlayStation during this year’s Tokyo Game Show. This would be a great opportunity to show off the power of the hardware and, possibly, it will not be wasted.
