GTA 6 is confirmed for release in autumn 2025

GTA 6 is, without a doubt, the most anticipated game of the moment. Many fans are eager for at least a certain release date, especially after some rumors point to a likely postponement of that date. But there is no reason to worry.

It turns out that Take-Two Interactive, in its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2024, brought news awaited by millions of fans around the world: the expected release of the next title in the iconic Grand Theft Auto series. Previously mentioned for sometime in 2025, GTA 6 now has a more specific, albeit still somewhat vague, release window: Fall 2025.

Confidence in GTA’s lasting success

As Take-Two enters fiscal 2025 with strong momentum, the company projects Net Reserves between $5.55 and $5.65 billion. This optimistic outlook reflects confidence in the commercial performance of GTA 6 (or Grand Theft Auto VI).

“As we enter fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to achieve Net Reserves of $5.55 to $5.65 billion. Our forecast reflects a narrowing of the window previously established by Rockstar Games from Calendar 2025 to Fall Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI. We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the title’s commercial impact continue to rise.”Take-Two stated in the report, raising expectations for the commercial impact of this highly anticipated title.

In addition to the predictions for GTA 6, the report highlighted the impressive continued performance of GTA 5 (Grand Theft Auto V), which reached the milestone of 200 million copies sold. This impressive feat makes GTA 5 the second best-selling game of all time, behind only Minecraft, which leads with 300 million copies sold.

Company still doesn’t offer many details about GTA 6

Despite fan enthusiasm, Rockstar Games has kept details of GTA 6 under wraps. So far, the only official release has been a trailer (which ended up leaking early) fueling even more anticipation among fans. Still, it was enough to show how much the game is being awaited, as the trailer alone broke viewing records on YouTube.

So far, what we know is that the game will be focused on the state of Leonida, where the fictional city of Vice City is located. This area had already appeared 18 years ago in GTA: Vice City Stories, the prequel to GTA: Vice City. The environments go beyond just streets, including beaches, internal areas of houses and buildings, swamps, water and other scenarios. The game will also feature 2 protagonists, Lucia and Jason, a couple of criminals who bring the vibe from Bonnie and Clyde.

Rumors are also circulating about a possible PC release of the original Red Dead Redemption, but Rockstar has not yet confirmed this information.

The confirmation of GTA 6’s Fall 2025 release window marks a significant moment in the new game’s road. In practical terms, this window shows that it will be released during the autumn period in the United States, which occurs between the months of September to November. Although it is not a certain date, what can be certain is that the launch will still be a few months away, as the game will only be released at the end of the year.

While we await more details, anticipation for the next chapter of one of video game’s most iconic franchises continues to grow.
