NVIDIA and AMD offer their AIB partners bundles of GDDR6 and GDDR7 memories along with their GPUs to create graphics cards that actually reach stores. With the current crisis in memory components, the prices of these kits have risen, but partner companies report that NVIDIA still charges less for the products.

The information comes from the Taiwanese channel Benchlife and is not an official statement, so it should be seen as a rumor. According to a post on the page, in free translation, the most recent increases took place in the last week.

“On January 16, NVIDIA officially notified its AIB partners that all GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory packages are increasing in price,” says the Benchlife report.

“We were informed of the price increase through known AIB partners, but we will not specify the exact price here. What we can say is that NVIDIA’s new prices are still lower than those announced by AMD for its AIB partners.”

NVIDIA and AMD continue to supply memories to their partners

The memory crisis caused by disproportionate demand for components in the professional AI segment will last throughout 2026 and, possibly, 2027 as well. Therefore, these price increases from NVIDIA and AMD to their partners were already something to be expected, and will probably be reflected very soon in the final price of the video cards.

An important aspect to highlight in this rumor is that companies continue to offer memory bundles to AIB companies. Last year we had rumors that NVIDIA might stop shipping memory packages to save money on video card production.

This decision could be disastrous for smaller AIBs, which do not have nearly the same negotiating power to compete for the supply of memories, which is so competitive today. Apparently this won’t be a concern at the moment.
