Summary
Google is testing an integration of the popular Nano Banana imaging model directly into the Chrome browser. In addition, the application can also gain Deep Search, to search in depth, which would make it more practical for accessing AI tools that are already widely used.
The new features appear as small buttons on the home page, just below the standard search bar, allowing users to supposedly perform tasks without leaving the browser. These new features were initially seen in the Canary version of Chrome, used for testing.

How does Nano Banana work on Chrome?
When you click on the Nano Banana button, the search box now displays “Create an image of…” where it previously said “Search on Google or enter a URL”.
Users can describe the image and wait for Google’s artificial intelligence to produce the illustration. The functionality remains in an experimental phase, which means we don’t know details about possible integration with other services or where the images will be saved.

Deep Search also has a dedicated button
The Deep Search feature allows in-depth research into complex issues. Previously, users needed to access Search AI Mode to use it. This functionality uses Gemini to scan multiple sources and compiles everything into a single report.

How to use Nano Banana?
Nano Banana is not yet available directly on Chrome, but you can still access it via the Gemini chatbot on your computer or cell phone.
To create an image from scratch, simply select the image tool and type a detailed description in the text box, such as “a cat lying in front of a fireplace”.

If you want to edit an existing photo, click the camera icon, upload the image and describe the changes, such as “change the shirt color” or “add a beach background”.
Nano Banana is impressive for maintaining the consistency of the original elements even with multiple consecutive edits, allowing for continuous adjustments.
