Manufacturer Gigabyte has introduced its new AMD motherboard model, the X870E AORUS Master – the second chipset in its “premium” line, as the main product will be the X870E AORUS Xtreme.
The motherboard has an ATX form factor and uses a combination of 24-pin ATX connectors and two 8-pin EPS inputs. According to the company, it will work with 16+2+2 digital VRM phases with 110A power, in addition to featuring a premium 8-layer PCB.
It also features extruded aluminum heatsinks on top for the CPU VRM and the M.2 NVMe Gen 5 slot. The Gigabyte X870E AORUS Master’s AM5 SoC is connected to four DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 192GB of dual-channel DDR5 at speeds up to DDR5-8000.
It also comes equipped with three M.2 NVMe Gen 5 slots – two of which are dedicated to the x4 interface of “Raphael” or Ryzen 9000 processors, while the other subtracts four lanes for the PCI-Express 5.0 x16 PEG slot.
The fourth M.2 NVMe slot is Gen4 and connected directly to the chipset. In terms of expansion slots, Gigabyte’s X870 AORUS Master motherboard will follow with a couple of PCIe 4.0 x16 (Gen4 x1 electrical) and also four SATA 6Gbps ports.

Gigabyte has revealed that in terms of USB connectivity, the X870E AORUS Master includes two USB4 ports with 40 Gbps (includes the processor’s DisplayPort connection), four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with 10 Gbps, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports with 5 Gbps, two USB 3.2 ports with 5 Gbps on the top and a USB-C 20 Gbps on the front panel.
Regarding the network interface, the new motherboard includes a 5 Gbps Ethernet port through the Realtek RTL8251B and a Qualcomm QCNCM865 controller that allows Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 connection.
It’s important to note that Gigabyte has not released a release date or the price at which it will sell its X870E AORUS Master motherboard, with the information expected to emerge in its upcoming announcements.
