Gigabyte gets DDR5-10600 on its Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice board

Gigabyte announced that its new high-end Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice card was used to achieve an impressive 10,600MT/s RAM overclock. The modules that reached this speed were CUDIMM DDR5, from V-Color, and the test was driven by an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K.

The Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice is especially geared toward overclocking, offering powerful VRM and a new feature called D5 Bionic Corsa, which Gigabyte says uses AI to help with system stability. Below are CPU-Z screenshots, proving the feat achieved on Gigabyte’s hardware:

The feat was led by the overclocker known as HiCookie, using two V-Color modules, each with 24GB. We can see in the screenshot the memory frequency at 5,300MHz, totaling 10,600MT/s for both components. The timings were 48-58-58-140.

Something interesting to highlight about Gigabyte’s test is that this is not the first time we have seen CUDIMM DDR5 memories reach 10,600MT/s. In February this year, the overclocker known as SafeDisk achieved the same feat, using an ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E, a Ryzen 7 8700G CPU and Trident Z2 memories from G.Skill.

Therefore, it is noteworthy that the Gigabyte board uses an Intel chipset. In other words, now we have the “other side” also hitting these advanced clock rates for memory.

Another very important number, however, was not released: the final price of the Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice.
