Despite naming the processors, AORUS did not disclose details such as the number of cores, frequencies and cache memory of this Zen 5 generation. But, according to rumors, these CPUs should follow the same core scheme as the previous generation, which would be:

  • Ryzen 9 9950X – 16 cores
  • Ryzen 9 9900X – 12 cores
  • Ryzen 7 9700X – 8 cores
  • Ryzen 5 9600 – 6 cores

Other specifications revealed by GIGABYTE

Unlike AMD Zen 4 CPUs for desktop PCs, which support DDR5-5200 memory, the Ryzen 9000 will support DDR5-5600 by default, and up to 8000 MT/s through AMD EXPO (overclock) profiles. The Infinity Fabric, the chiplet connection, will operate at 2.4 GHz, 400 MHz more than the previous generation.

The leak also revealed some motherboard models that AORUS will have for Ryzen 9000 processors, introducing a new series called “AI TOP”:

  • X870E AORUS Extreme AI TOP
  • X870E AORUS Pro Ice
  • X870 AORUS Elite WiFi
  • X870I AORUS Pro
  • B850 AI TOP
  • B850M DS3H
  • B850 AORUS Elite AX
  • B840 D2H

This list also shows a new chipset category: B840. The nomenclature ending with 40 had not yet appeared between the different generations of AMD Ryzen processors. But we don’t see any model with a chipset starting with the letter A, which was the entry-level segment.

A recent benchmark leak said that one of the Zen 5 SKUs, probably the top-of-the-line CPU, delivers 19% more single-core performance compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X, AMD’s top-of-the-line Zen 4 processor.

The person responsible for the leak also stated that the standard performance of Ryzen 9000 CPUs would be superior to Zen 4 CPUs with 3D V-Cache technology in games, which is no small feat, as Ryzen processors finished with X3D are usually the best in games. in your category.
