Gigabyte has expanded its AM5 motherboard portfolio with the announcement of the X870I Aorus Pro Ice, its first mini-ITX with the X870 chipset. As the “Ice” in the name suggests, it is a small blank mobo, with just two memory slots and two M.2 connections for SSDs.
It is possible to see in the images that the Gigabyte X870I Aorus Pro Ice has only one PCIe 5.0 connection. It is an x16 port for GPUs with reinforced UD Slot X design, to avoid damage due to the weight of the installed graphics card.
Furthermore, the images of the board show us that it comes with a heatsink for M.2 SSDs. The drives are on top of each other, with only one connection having a PCIe 5.0 interface, while the other is on 4.0.
As mentioned, Gigabyte’s new mini-ITX board supports two RAM modules, with speeds of up to DDR5-8800, using the AMD EXPO memory overclocking profile.

Gigabyte X870I Aorus Pro Ice price and availability
The new mini-ITX board with Gigabyte’s X870 chipset is already on sale in some stores in Europe and the United States. The people at VideoCardz found the product for €330 (2,040) in Germany and considerably cheaper in the USA, for US$299.99 (R$1,725).
This is an above average value for AM5 cards. It is possible to see that Gigabyte is charging extra for the compact format, since the Aorus Elite WIFI7, for example, appears for US$10 less in the same store, costing US$289.99.
