Since the official launch of the RTX 50 series and the introduction of new Nvidia drivers for these GPUs, some users have reported varied problems with updates – especially in previous generations of signs, such as RTX 40. So last Sunday, the 6th, Gamer Nexus people published a video with extensive tests of the company’s drivers, concluding that the problems are really generalized.
“This has been an absolutely abominable and completely shameful release for Nvidia,” says Steve Burke, editor of the gamer Nexus in the video. “(…) In the time I have been doing this since 2008, focusing on hardware since 2010… At that time, that was the worst release I’ve ever seen from Nvidia.”
Burke seeks some commonly reported problems and tries to replicate them in their testing environment. Unfortunately he gets in many cases. Videocardz organized a list of bugs in games that the channel was able to replicate in a “consistent” way:
- Star Wars Outlaws: Choose “Continue” caused crash
- Marvel Rivals: Turn the Frame Generation caused crash
- Cyberpunk 2077: crashes when needing the game
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Crash in the game benchmark, with warning of driver error
These tests were done with the 572.83 driver. According to Burke, different versions delivered different results, but returning to the 566.36 Driver solved the problems in these four examples.
Nvidia drivers have problems in various situations
In addition to games in games, bugs appeared in various situations. Using more than one monitor, for example, was something that caused bugs, especially with G-SYNC connected to high update rates.
Burke also says it makes a difference between GPUS and monitors, which should make users more difficult to try to get around the problem without using old driver versions.
