G.Skill has announced a new DDR5 memories kit that reaches a total of 256GB capacity. The company says this is the first set of modules in the world to offer so much volatile memory as it reaches 6,000mt/remains only CL32 in latency.
The kit comes with four 64GB modules each and is aimed at AMD. That is, it was in the AMD Expo configuration that G.Skill was able to reach the numbers it promises for its new Trident Z5 memories Neo RGB.

WCCFTECH staff recalls that V-Color announced in January a 256GB memories kit reaching 6,000mt/s, so G.Skill would not be exactly the first in the world. However, the company tries to differentiate itself with better latency by offering Cl32 while the January modules of its rival are in Cl38.

Accompanying the revelation of its new kits, G.Skill has made some internal test results available in different settings. The tests were done not only with the Ryzen 7 9800x3D, but also with a Ryzen 9 9900X. It is noteworthy that one of the tests does not even use the X870 top -line chipset, reaching 6,400mt/s on a MSI Mag B850 Morte Wifi.

Those who follow the records of overclocking in memories may have realized that AM5 platforms are not the favorite to bring the speeds of RAM modules to more significant numbers. Stable performance above 6,000mt/s in AMD cards is already an interesting differential for G.Skill’s new memories, whether they are unprecedented or not.

The popularization of the Generative AI for domestic use has resulted in the search for more memory capabilities in different components, including RAM. Kits with 192GB or 256GB should keep up with the success of technology and become increasingly common as well.
