G.Skill GDDR5 Memory goes to 12054 mt/s in overclocking with air cooling

As you well know, performance records and speed in the PC segment do not represent the routine of ordinary users. When we see absurd numbers, achieved with hardware we have access, it is not an incentive to try this with our components. Of course, if you are an enthusiast and have a thorough knowledge of the subject, go to you and risk. However, for most of us, these records are only for admiration and knowing that the capacity of our equipment can be surprising.

That said, the test that made the memory of the G.Skill Trident Z5 reaches 12.054 mt/s (6,027.1 MHz) is a remarkable action as it was performed with air cooling. Although it is an incredible number, the current record is 12,697 mt/s, which has not been hit using Air Cooling.

Other records, such as the one mentioned above, were achieved using liquid nitrogen or helium for cooling, against a G.Skill Trident Z5 using air cooling with a single memory ventilator.

The setup that reached the 12,054 mt/s mark had a Rog Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard and an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, and of course G.Skill Trident Z5, classified for DDR5 8000 Cl38. According to HWBOT, the configuration overclockada presented timings of 68-127-127-127.

“In previous records of overclocking on the Intel Z890 platform, only extreme cooling below zero with liquid nitrogen or dry ice was used to reach overclocking speeds above DDR5-12000. These memory overclock records, achieved with CPU in water cooling and air cooling memory, are an incredible milestone for the Overclock community. G.Skill has also announced that another overclochker has reached 12,050 mt/s using the same memory kit on an ASROCK Z890 OCF Taichi-paired motherboard with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor.

Although these numbers achieved have used a simple cooling solution, the CPUs were synchronized at just 400 MHz with only one enabled core. We emphasize that such a configuration is not used by average users.
