Framework has officially announced its first price increases for 2026 on the full-featured PCs it offers. As usual, the justification lies in the exponential rise in prices for RAM memory components, caused by shortages in the market to meet the intense demand for professional AI processing systems.
The company tries to show transparency in its price increases, and says that the values directly reflect only the most expensive memories. Framework PCs with 32GB and 64GB of memory had an increase of US$40, much less than the PC with 128GB, which jumped by US$460. Therefore, the systems now cost, respectively, US$1,139, US$1,639 and US$2,459.
“We held on for as long as we could, but with LPDDR5X memory prices from our suppliers continuing to increase rapidly, we had to update prices on Framework desktop systems and motherboards,” stated Framework in its official post. “Prices for 128Gbit parts (of which we used 8 to get to 128GB) jumped the most, impacting our very popular 128GB configuration.”
Framework warns of challenging year or even “years” for consumers
So far, no optimistic prospect for the year 2026 has appeared in relation to memory prices. The text of the Framework goes even further, highlighting that difficulties may continue until 2027.
“From what we learned in our meetings throughout the week at CES with suppliers, distributors and partners, it is clear that this is going to be a challenging year, and possibly even challenging years, for consumers,” the company says in its post.

Framework claims that, even after the increases, your complete PC with 32GB of RAM is still cheaper than building a system with similar performance on your own.
The way things are going, it will soon become difficult to find memory kits in stores, even for those willing to pay their inflated prices.
