Fortnite event will take place on Saturday night

For those who were eagerly awaiting the partnership between Fortnite and Disney, it looks like some questions will be answered this Saturday. It turns out that the game has already announced a livestream of the event called Disney’s D23, with the panel “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.”

The idea behind the event is to bring more news to the game and more details about how this partnership with Disney will work. Apparently, the game could receive a new game mode dedicated to Mickey’s universe. In addition, there will be a prize for those who participate!

Disney’s investment in Epic Games

In February, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the company had invested a staggering $1.5 billion in Epic Games. The investment marks Disney’s “largest foray into the gaming space to date” and aims to integrate a Disney universe into the Fortnite online platform.

The goal is to provide consumers with a wide range of opportunities to play, watch, shop and interact with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Avatar’ and more.

Since the investment announcement, Disney and Epic Games have been tight-lipped about the details of the project. However, the recent announcement of a Fortnite livestream during the D23 event has raised new expectations about what’s to come.

Fans expect the partnership to deliver an innovative and immersive experience that connects the magical worlds of Disney with the interactive universe of Fortnite.

Fortnite Event Details and How to Participate

For Brazilians, it will be necessary to stay up later on Saturday (10/08), as the Disney Horizons Live from D23 island will begin to be accessible from 22:30 (Brasília time), and the broadcast will start one hour later, that is, at 00:30 (Brasília time) on August 11th

The panel will be hosted by Josh D’Amaro, Disney’s head of parks and experiences. D’Amaro will be joined by “some special guests” to share exciting news about the Disney and Fortnite collaboration.

To participate in the event, Fortnite players will be able to access the D23 live stream through the new “Disney Horizons Live” island, which will be available in the Home Bar, in Discover (top row) or by using the island code 7908-6413-2516.

Rewards for players and option for those who miss the live event

Players who visit the Disney Horizons Live island for at least 10 minutes will be rewarded with a free in-game item: the Peelverine Plush Back Bling. Additionally, they will receive experience points (XP) at a later date in September.

For those who weren’t able to attend the event, there’s still two pieces of good news. The first is that it will be running on a loop until August 16, so you can watch it over and over again whenever you want. The second is that, although you won’t be able to get the Wolvenana for free, the item won’t be exclusive, so it will appear in the store for purchase later.

The announcement did not make it clear whether the Wolvenana item would only be given to those who watched the event live or whether it would also be redeemable for free for those who visited the island during this period until August 16.
