Intel held its presentation for CES 2026 yesterday, January 5th. As expected, the big news at the keynote was the official launch of the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors for notebooks, also known as the Panther Lake generation.

After months and leaks about the products, Intel ran out of big news to reveal about the new processors, but it is interesting to see official confirmation of the information. Additionally, we now have a complete and very detailed table for all SKU options available at the debut of the Panther Lake line:

Big news for the Intel Core Ultra Series 3, which has been attracting attention since the leaks, is the new class of “X” products in the line. These will be the most advanced integrated graphics processors, including a total of 12 Xe3 cores in the models.

As rumors indicate, the Core Ultra 5 338H is the only Panther Lake processor at launch with 10 Xe3 cores, which leaves it without an “X” in the name, but it is still much more graphics capable than other processors, which will come with 4 integrated graphics cores, or up to 2 in entry-level models.

Intel promises broad product availability

A focus for Intel in announcing the Core Ultra Series 3 is how the company intends to make the products widely available upon their arrival, which takes place on January 27th. According to the company, this will be the “most widely adopted and globally available AI PC platform Intel has ever made.”

“With Series 3, we are laser-focused on improving power efficiency, adding more CPU performance, a larger GPU in a class of its own, more AI compute and app compatibility you can count on x86,” said Intel executive Jim Johnson.

The company promises more than 200 different notebooks and PCs with Panther Lake processors in the first year of the line.

Official debut of the 18A process

Obviously, another very important point for the Panther Lake generation is that these products mark the debut of Intel’s new 18A chip manufacturing process. The company made a point of highlighting in its announcement that the technology was created and has its entire production based in the United States.

Taking advantage, the company also highlights that the Core Series 3 is already certified for professional and industrial-scale uses, including tests in wide temperature variations and reliability of constant use, without turning off.

Compared to the NVIDIA Jetson Orin, Intel promises up to 1.9 times more performance in LLM and up to 2.3 times more “performance per watt per dollar” in end-to-end video analytics. According to the company, Panther Lake processors will offer a better TCO (total cost of ownership) for its customers.
