Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released in April 2025; check out the trailer

A SNK announced that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – the newest iteration in the iconic fighting game series Fatal Fury — will be released on April 24, 2025. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store.

“Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves features a unique art style that stimulates the senses, an innovative REV System that supercharges the emotions, and a host of other battle systems that are even more robust than before. The game also breathes new life into the series by introducing two distinct control schemes (ensuring fun and excitement for newcomers and veterans alike), as well as other new features and elements,” SNK said in a statement.

The action kicks off with a total of 22 characters: a diverse cast of 17 members, including familiar and new faces, plus five DLC fighters in Season Pass 1. Each character is vibrantly presented in CotWwhich will certainly stimulate the senses.

Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodge Attacks, Feints, SPG (Selective Potential Gear) – classic battle systems from the Fatal Fury series return to the scene after more than 25 years, with evolutions for the modern day.

Choose between two control schemes: the Arcade Style is based on precise and technical inputs, while the Smart Style lets you perform flashy special moves and combos using directional inputs and unique button presses. From fighting game newbies to seasoned veterans, there’s plenty of fun and excitement to be had. Best of all, the action is tailored specifically to your level!

The game’s Arcade Mode takes players into the iconic world of South Town, as the legendary city of wolves sees a battle for the legacy of the great Geese Howard. Mother, son, brother, master, dear friends, mortal enemies – a storm of emotions, memories and more fuels these fighters as they journey toward a long-awaited encounter with destiny. Unravel the mysteries of the past and discover the truth of tomorrow as the epic saga of South Town comes to a head!

Introducing “Episodes of South Town” (EOST) — a single-player RPG adventure where you’ll face off against competitors in a variety of combat conditions, earning XP and other rewards for your efforts. Level up your fighter, craft a diverse kit of skills, and dominate your opponents on your way to the top. Dreams and ambitions run wild in South Town; now’s the time to pursue the city’s crown and carve out a legend of your own. Please note that EOST requires an internet connection and the game to be updated to play.

SNK also highlights rollback netcode and cross-platform functionality, allowing matches to be played even with players on different systems and consoles. Match modes include Ranked Match, Casual Match, and Room Match, ensuring variety in each play session.

Public demo at Gamescom 2024

SNK will have a booth at gamescom 2024, Europe’s largest games-focused trade show, which will take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 21-25. At the event, visitors will be able to experience a public demo of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
