Worst of all, little information was given to employees. Those who attended the meeting believe that Elon Musk’s network decided to leave Brazil due to disagreements with recent court decisions, such as the removal of profiles and publications and the requirement to provide user data.

The official profile dedicated to government relations confirmed the end of operations and criticized Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, for measures seen by the company as censorship. We are very sad to be forced into this decision. The blame lies entirely with Alexandre de Moraes. His actions are not in keeping with a democratic government.

Approximately 40 people were involved with X’s operations in Brazil. Managers mentioned that team safety was the reason for the closure.

Due to the urgency of the meeting and the fact that it was a weekend, several team members did not receive the invitation and are still unaware that they have been terminated. Their access to company systems has already been revoked. These employees are uncertain about their entitlement to severance benefits, including the value of the shares they owned when they were publicly traded.

In a statement, X clarified that the application will continue to be available in Brazil.
