Elgato has announced the launch of two new docks for its Stream Deck Plus device, one adding XLR microphone support and the other a USB hub.
The XLR Dock can be attached to the back of the Stream Deck Plus and delivers up to 75 dB of gain, which can help users enhance the use of popular microphones like Shure’s SM7B. Like the Wave XLR, it also has a headphone jack for zero-latency monitoring.
According to Elgato, the “XLR Dock” will require you to use just a USB cable connected to your PC or laptop connected to a single device instead of combining the use of the Stream Deck with an XLR interface. The buttons on the Stream Deck Plus allow you to control the microphone, directing one of the buttons to its best use.

Expanding Elgato’s Stream Deck Plus
In addition to the XLR Dock, Elgato is also releasing the “USB Hub” that can be plugged into the back of the Stream Deck Plus and further expand the device’s USB ports.
Essentially, the new dock includes two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and an SD or microSD card reader on its side. According to the manufacturer, the four USB ports deliver up to 5 Gb/s of data transfer – without using Thunderbolt technology.
The Stream Deck Plus’ USB Hub also features a 65-watt connector, allowing you to charge your laptop if you plug it into an external USB-C power source. Elgato itself recommends that users use a USB-C power source while using the hub.
Most systems are unable to power both the Stream Deck Plus and the USB Hub alone without causing performance issues. For best results, keep the USB Hub connected to a power source at all times.
The Elgato project
Elgato intends to launch even more docks to expand the possibilities for streamers using the Stream Deck Plus. Launched in 2022, the model has all the buttons seen in its first version, but also has a new LCD display, additional buttons and the possibility of adding functions with these devices.
According to the manufacturer’s official website, the XLR Dock is being sold at a suggested price of $119.99 and the USB Hub is priced at $59.99.
