Black Myth director: Wukong expresses his dissatisfaction

Feng Ji, director of Black Myth: Wukong, took to social media to share his disappointment with the result. In a heartfelt message, he did not hide his frustration with the selection criteria for the top prize.

“In the end, he won the Best Action and Player Voice awards, especially Player Voice, which is gratifying. But I must admit that there are disappointments and regrets… This year’s nominated games are all excellent, but I really don’t understand the selection criteria for this year’s Game of the Year. I came here for nothing!”

Feng Ji also commented on the community’s reactions:

“From yesterday to today, I also saw a strong dissatisfaction, reluctance and unhappiness in the comments of many players – most expressed in a humorous and deconstructive way, which is hilarious. I can fully understand this reluctance and sympathize with this unhappiness, because I know that behind these emotions there is not pain or evil, but self-esteem and self-confidence.”

Following the announcement of Astro Bot as the winner, Alanah Pearce revealed that an unidentified developer from Game Science, the studio responsible for Black Myth: Wukong, was seen crying backstage.
