Dell started sales of the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus 2025 (model MB16250NT) this week, a high-performance workstation notebook aimed at professionals that the company announced in May. It comes with Intel CPUs and up to 128GB of memory.
Furthermore, the machine’s biggest distinguishing feature is the presence of Qualcomm’s first dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). With it, the promise is that it will be able to deal with Large Language Models (LLMs) more efficiently locally.
With a full-bodied metal chassis with a sober look, it comes with a more robust system of Cooling with three fans to handle demanding hardware. As a result, it has a greater thickness, exceeding 3 cm.

It was designed for tasks such as engineering, research, advanced 3D modeling and even medical use. Like this, features Intel Arrow Lake-HX processors in options up to Core Ultra 9 285HX, accompanied by up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage. Both memory and storage are expandable.
The biggest highlight of the variant that went on sale this week is the focus on AI processing. Therefore, the notebook swaps NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell GPUs for Qualcomm AI 100 Inference Card. This is the company’s first dedicated NPU.
With it, the notebook must run more complex LLMs in continuous use locally, offering lower latency and greater efficiency and data security. Although, little has been detailed so far in terms of performance.

It is known that AI 100 combines two NPUs to achieve 32 AI cores and offers 64 GB of its own memorywith the ability to run data in FP16 format. A number of Trillions of Operations Per Second (TOPS) was not given.
What both companies, Dell and Qualcomm, promise, is that it is possible to run models of around 120 billion parameters on the device. This is a number well above average.
