Justin Hotard, head of the division to Datacenters and Ia from Intel (DCAI), is leaving the company to take over as CEO of Nokia. The announcement is official and comes from the companies themselves, which confirmed that the executive will start performing their new role on April 1.
As the name implies, Intel’s DCAI division is responsible for its professional products, such as the Xeon 6 line, recently launched under Hotard protection. The executive, however, did not spend a long time in the company, having started his work at the beginning of 2024, coming from HP.
The choice of DCAI chief as CEO for Nokia already indicates the company’s priorities for the future: Datacenter and IA. One of the company’s representatives commented on the matter.
“I am very pleased to receive Justin at Nokia,” said Sari Baldauf, head of the company’s directors. “It has a robust history of accelerating growth in technology companies along with a vast experience in AI and Datacenter markets, which are critical areas for Nokia’s future growth.”
Hotard replaces Pekka Lundmark, who leaves office on March 31 and will continue to act as a counselor by the end of the year.
DCAI leader leaves Intel after just a year
The executive is leaving his position at Intel after completing only one year, which was not marked by great achievements. Despite the successful launch of the Xeon 6 line, Gaudi 3 product sales have fallen and we saw the cancellation of Falcon Shores accelerators and the postponement of Clearwater Forest products.

With so little time in the leadership of the division, it is difficult to know how far Hotard decisions impacted these results. While looking for a new DCAI chief, Intel pointed out Karin Eibschitz Segal as an interim leader of the division.
