Intel may end up opting to use two different generations of its architecture for IGPU of the New Lake-S Generation processors. The information is not yet official, but it comes from a well -known Hardware world.

Jaykihn (Jaykihn0) posted without offering details that new lake-S will use “XE3 + XE4”, then complementing the post saying “XE3 graphics + xe4 display and media”. That is, the insider claims to have information that Intel will take advantage of the modular design of its next generation GPUS to integrate two different GPU architectures.

As TewchPowerup emphasizes, it is something like what the company has done on Meteor Lake, also separating the graphics and media and display in the IGPUS of these components.

Xe3 “improved” should appear in the new lake-s

Responding to Jaykihn’s post, many users wonder if he is talking about Xe3P, Intel’s “improved” version of graphic architecture – which should even make an appearance on the dedicated heavenly Arc video cards of the next generation.

The “leak” does not respond directly to posts, but Bionic_Squash (@squashbionic), another well -known industry insider, appears to say that “it is not the standard XE3, it has several changes”. The post then does not confirm to be XE3P, but ensures that it is not the original version of the architecture.

Bionic_Squash also emphasizes that the XE4 nuclei that will appear in the new lake-S for media would be “very good”, supported by Codec professional video.

Intel processors can bring a lot of variety among skus

Intel’s Tiles Design Tiles for its new processor Lake-S generation allows many different settings for each SKU of the line. Thus, not all CPUS variants can accompany integrated GPUs with different architectures.

Using XE4 for video only and keeping XE3 in graphic rendering seems indicative of an economical solution for Intel, avoiding equipping processors with only more current graphics nuclei, which are more expensive. Thus, it is possible that the input options of the new lake components do not follow XE4.

At the moment we are in the phase of rumors and speculation. Let’s still see Arrow Lake Refresh and CPUS releases for 18th-based Panther Lake notebooks before the new lake-S appear.
