CPU-Z update reveals AMD Ryzen 9 9950HX3D and More CPUS FIRE RANGE

The CPU-Z diagnostic software received an update this week to support AMD Ryzen 9000HX processors, also known as Fire Range. The update, however, eventually revealed three new components of the series that have not yet been officially released by the manufacturer.

The Fire Range series is Dragon Range’s new Zen 5 -based generation, bringing CPUs aimed at the modified desktop to high performance notebooks. AMD revealed its first models at CES 2025, showing three skus. The line is led by Ryzen 9 9955hx3D, the only one in the “family” with 3D V-Cache-at least so far.

The CPU-Z update reveals three new line processors, effectively doubling the number of Fire Range component options. This includes one more 3D V-Cache model, the Ryzen 9 9950hx3d. The other two who appear are the Ryzen 9 9950hx and the Ryzen 9 9850hx.

It is worth mentioning that the Ryzen 9 9850hx appears listed as Ryzen 9 9845hx, but Videocardz staff points out that this should be a typing error. Nomenclature 9845HX would indicate a Zen 4 product, but this sku appears clearly marked as a CPU Fire Range, so it needs to be Zen 5.

CPU-Z prepares for Fire Range and RTX 50

In addition to Fire Range support, this CPU-Z update also brings compatibility with RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. The site does not say in detail whether it is just desktop versions, or if it would already include its notebook variants.

Since Fire Range processors are focused on high performance gamer notebooks, they should appear accompanied by models from the RTX 50 series in many cases. Several devices with this configuration already appear in pre-sale.

Even so, there are predictions that the first notebooks with CPUS Fire Range arrive in March, along with RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070 Ti Mobile. Officially, AMD only promised products for the first half of 2025.
