Corsair revealed this week its latest portable external SSD, the Ex400U. The small drive is compatible with USB 3 and Thunderbolt 4 through its USB-C port, promising speeds up to 4,000m/s for reading and up to 3,600MB/s for recording. The product comes with a USB-C cable to connect to PCs, Macs or iOS devices.
One of the main highlights for the new Corsair external SSD is its compact size. It only measures 2.5 ”on each side, the equivalent of about 64mm². Even though it is small, the drive arrives in options with up to 4TB capacity.
The manufacturer also emphasizes the Corsair SSD Toolbox, software that accompanies its new portable drive. The program can be used for advanced product control, secure file deletion and firmware updates. “This ensures that users can maintain optimized performance and data security over time,” the brand explains.
The Ex400U is already on sale in the US. The 1TB model costs $ 140 ($ 824), while the 2TB version comes out for $ 200 ($ 1,117). The highest capacity option has 4TB and costs $ 360 ($ 2,120), but is exhausted on the Corsair website when we publish this post.

Little Drive Ex400U was not present yet at Corsair’s booth at CES 2025, where the company showed its main products for this year.
Once again, the well -known brand of drives and offices showed a lot of focus on customization in its participation in the event. One of the highlights, for example, was the Frame 4000D, which received updates to be even more modular.
