Created by the new Fun Dog studio, made up of veterans of AAA games, The Forever Winter is a third-person shooter with a focus on co-op that will be released for PC, and will require a beefy machine. A GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER is still a strong GPU, but in this game, it’s a minimum requirement.
In terms of processors, The Forever Winter requires Intel Core i7 and AMD Ryzen 7 from previous generations, in addition to 16 GB of RAM. The counterpart to the RTX 2080 SUPER is a Radeon RX 5700 XT, which is slightly inferior to the rival, depending on the game.
Before showing the game’s complete requirements, it is worth mentioning that, although these GPUs were already strong in their time, today they deliver performance similar to current entry-level chips. The RX 5700 XT, for example, is inferior to the RX 7600. The RTX 2080 SUPER is between the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti.
So it’s more a matter of nomenclature when choosing GPUs for system requirements? It might be. In any case, the recommended requirements are, yes, heavy.

In relation to The Forever Winter, the game promises to be different to similar titles available. With its dynamic encounter system, the game will have enemies with their own objectives, “operating in coordinated groups” and participating in combat.
The gameplay itself is reminiscent of Helldivers 2, the current trending game in this genre, but without the giant insects and just humans and war machines. The first gameplay trailer even shows players facing off against giant mechs. The game is a PvE where looting is important for survival.
Despite having system requirements released, The Forever Winter still has no release date or any indication about a release for consoles either.
