Cooler Master Announces New ATX 3.1 Power Supplies in the X Series Platinum Line

Cooler Master today introduced its new X Series Platinum power supplies. These fully modular, ATX 3.1-compatible, 92% energy-efficient power supplies offer capacities from 850W to 2,000W for high-performance computing.

The manufacturer highlights some of the features that all X Series power supplies offer. In addition to the modular design, the products support ATX 3.1, with 12+4-pin PCIe 5.1 cables (12V-2×6) with a 90º bend in the connection. The PSUs also feature aluminum heatsinks with a patented design by Cooler Master, promising excellent temperature transfer rate.

It’s notable that the fonts even have Platinum in the title, referring to the 80 Plus Platinum seal of energy efficiency, but Cooler Master doesn’t mention the certification by name. Perhaps this is because the 80 Plus seal has been increasingly questioned, but it still appears in the font specifications on its official page.

Specifically, the new X Series Platinum fonts are:

• X Silent Edge Platinum: 850W or 1100W options, no fan. Cooler Master promises enough cooling without the fan, to reduce noise.
• X Silent Max Platinum: It comes with 1300W of capacity and incorporates the company’s Mobius fan.
• X Mighty Platinum: More “sturdy” model, with 2000W. The manufacturer says it is “ideal for machine learning, AI and workstations”.

Cooler Master doesn’t talk about prices for its new power supplies

The X Series Platinum PSUs don’t have an official release date yet, which means they haven’t been priced yet either. Cooler Master says only that the products will be “available soon.”

It will be interesting to have a whole line with four new power supply options that support ATX 3.1. The standard started to appear more in finished products this year, and has gradually spread. Enermax has already started 2024 showing a product with considerable capacity, and this month we also had an option from Antec appearing, in a more compact format.
