O Amazon Prime Video confirmed that it will start showing advertisements in 2025 in Brazil, a scenario that is already a reality on platforms such as Netflix, Max e Disney+. In addition to Brazil, the company confirmed that the new guideline will be implemented in India, Japan, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
The Amazon platform already shows commercials to subscribers in Germany, Australia, Austria, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Mexico and the United Kingdom
In a statement, Amazon justifies the action by citing that this is necessary to continue investing in quality content. In addition to confirming the implementation of ads in 2025, Amazon says that the price will not change.
“To continue investing in quality content and increasing this investment in the long term, starting in 2025, Prime Video content will include limited advertising in Brazil.” The post also mentions that current prices will not change and that there will be an ad-free option. It is not yet known when in 2025 the change will occur.”

Amazon also confirmed in a note that it will implement a new ad-free plan:
“We will also offer a new ad-free option and will share pricing for that option soon. Before ads are introduced on Prime Video, we will share with Prime members information about how to sign up for the ad-free option if they choose.”
