The calendar of technology and gaming events is quite populated at the end of the first half of this year. In addition to the Summer Game Fest and various developer conferences, technology enthusiasts can’t wait for another annual event: the Computexone of the most important conferences in Asia and the market as a whole.

Very focused on hardware and industry advances, this year the conference promises to reveal new generations of components from names like Intel, AMD and NVIDIA, as well as hardware news.

With so much expectation, the Adrenaline will be in person at Computex 2024 to bring videos and content straight from the fair in Taiwan. Stay tuned and follow our coverage!

When is Computex 2024?

Computex 2024 takes place between June 4th and 7th, 2024. Homeland of companies like ASUS and TSMC, Taiwan is traditionally the home of the fair and this time is no different. More specifically, the entire event will be held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center — a convention center further away from the city, but larger.

Most of the main conferences will be broadcast, either on the YouTube channel of related companies or on Computex’s own profile. In addition, in-person visitors will have access to new features revealed by manufacturers, as well as demonstration stands and product launches.

What to expect from Computex 2024?

In this edition, Computex 2024 has six main themeswho will be present at the lectures (keynotes) and in most advertisements. They are all related to hot topics in the industry, trends for the future or current possibilities in the market.

The subjects of the fair are the following:

  • Computing for AI
  • Immersive Reality
  • Future Mobility
  • Advanced Connectivity
  • Sustainability
  • Innovations

Despite this organization, artificial intelligence (AI) should be the main theme of the entire fair. The technology must be present in all segments, from chips dedicated to services, to servers to meet demand.

Furthermore, also following an industry tradition, Computex 2024 is the stage for the unveiling of CPUs and GPUs from the main manufacturers in the sector. They share the stage with new notebooks, portable consoles, SSDs, motherboards, memory modules, casemods and other hardware components in general.

AMD

The opening of Computex 2024 is in charge of Lisa Su, CEO of AMD. Rumors are that the company will present AMD Ryzen AI 100 CPUs based on the Zen 5 architecture at the fair.

Leaks suggest that the AMD Ryzen AI 165 “Strix Point” APU will come with 10 cores and 20 threads. Additionally, it will offer XDNA2-based NPUs with 45 TOPS performance for artificial intelligence.

The announcements of the new generation of “Granite Ridge” desktop CPUs (the AMD Ryzen 9000) and XDNA AI accelerators.

Intel

Intel also confirmed an early presentation at Computex 2024. In the case of the company, more details are expected about its processors from Lunar Lake family (Intel Core Ultra 200), which focuses on energy efficiency, and the architecture Arrow Lakewith guaranteed NPUs for optimized use in AI.

The main family should only officially arrive in 2025, as mass production hasn’t even started yet. Furthermore, the company may also reveal its next products from the Xeon and Gaudi lines.

Qualcomm

Qualcomm may not make announcements at the fair, but that doesn’t mean it will ignore Computex. The conference is an opportunity for the public to take a closer look at the brand’s new venture: the Snapdragon X processors, ready for the new generation of notebooks with Windows and Copilot+ from the most varied manufacturers.

NVIDIA

In the case of NVIDIA, the greatest certainty is what should not be announced. Despite the high expectations, the Blackwell line of GPUs should be left for another opportunity, despite the launch still scheduled for 2024.

However, CEO Jensen Huang is confirmed at a conference and is expected to make announcements during his speech.

With the AI ecosystem theme, it should provide more details about the company’s change in focus, increasingly focused on this sector — and financially benefiting from it.

Furthermore, speculation about the SoC reveal resulting from the partnership between NVIDIA and MediaTek is stronger than ever. The CPU model may be yet another response to recent launches in the area, such as the Snapdragon X and the Apple M4.

ASUS

ASUS usually takes advantage of Computex to make many electronics announcements, but so far few details have been anticipated.

One of the possibilities is the arrival of the ROG Ally X, the update of the brand’s gaming laptop. According to leaks, the model will have a battery with 40% more capacity, in addition to a standard M.2 2280 SSD and a 7-inch VRR IPS screen with 120 Hz.

Among other leaked or expected announcements, the MSI is preparing the launch of Z890 and B860 motherboardscompatible with the future Intel Core Ultra 200 line.

Me and Gigabyte is another brand investing heavily in AI, with servers optimized for this technology and that support modern chips from AMD and NVIDIA. Furthermore, Acemagic will present its first notebook with two horizontal screens at the fair.

Mark your calendar: the main Computex 2024 conferences

See below some of the most anticipated keynotes from the event. The list is organized in Brasília time (with some inaccessible times, thanks to the Taipei time zone). The transmission must take place both on the fair’s own channel and on the pages of the respective brands.
