Colorful Launches CVN X870 Ark Frozen V14, its first AMD X870 plate

Colorful launched this week the CVN X870 Ark Frozen V14, its first AMD motherboard in the current generation for enthusiasts. The new model comes equipped with several dissipping, has a design of 14 + 2 + 1 phases and a “turn -off” lock system to the GPU, which the company showed in a teaser earlier this year.

Plate dissipping cover all M.2 connections for SSDs, so they do not appear in the images. There are two connections with PCIE 5.0 support and a third with PCIE 4.0.

In the memories, the plate supports up to 8,200mt/s in DDR5 modules. WCCFTECH points out that this speed is not the largest for a motherboard in the CVN X870 segment, but RAM hardly exceeds 8,000mt/s in AM5 models.

Going to the connections on the back, we can see four USB-A 3.2 5g ports with two other USB-A 2.0 right next door. Then we have a USB-C 4.0 and a single USB-A 3.2 10g. There is an optical digital audio output, besides the traditional analog. In addition, we still have two video exits, an HDMI and a Displayport.

Although it does not take Wi-Fi in the name, ColorFul CVN X870 is compatible with the wireless network as well, offering support to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Last times we have seen motherboard manufacturers by introducing new solutions to fit and unleash PCIE video cards, especially for higher values ​​components. With the size that current GPUs have achieved, it can be difficult to access the most traditional PIE lock, so Colorful is one of those brands that has thought a different solution for the CVN X870.
